Illustrated Invisible Cities

ILLUSTRATED ADAPTATION
Work in Progress | 8.5x8.5inches

Italo Calvino’s ‘Invisible Cities’ is an imaginary conversation between Marco Polo and Kublai Khan, describing 55 whimsical surreal cities that serve as metaphors for various aspects of life and human nature. The book has been an all-time obsession of mine, in an attempt to channel which, I began this project. The goal is to illustrate all 55 of his imaginary cities and put the book together again, pairing the text with the new illustrations.
